Nargunam was born out of a deep connection to the rich, fertile lands of Panruti, a region globally renowned for its jackfruit. Having moved to Panruti after resigning from central PSU job, our founder always knew of the abundance of jackfruit, but it wasn’t until an accidental discovery that she realized its untapped potential. Seeing tonnes of this remarkable superfood going to waste felt like a crime. This sparked a mission to change the way people perceive jackfruit.

Shocked by the fact that such a nutritious, versatile fruit wasn’t being fully utilized, Nargunam's founder took it upon herselves to harness its power. What began as an initiative to prevent waste evolved into a passion for creating value-added products that offer health benefits, sustainability, and convenience. From jackfruit preserves to raw jackfruit powder and meat substitutes, Nargunam aims to share the benefits of this fruit with the world.

Nargunam’s name reflects the essence of our philosophy — “Nargunam” means "good qualities" in Tamil. It symbolizes our commitment to creating products that are not only good for you but also good for the planet. By embracing and sourcing from local farms, Nargunam embodies the perfect marriage of health and sustainability.

A New Chapter – Seer Bhakshanam & Traditional Edible Return Gifts

In mid-2026, we proudly expanded our journey by introducing Seer Bhakshanam, Thamboolam Return Gift Combos and Paruppu Thengai Koodu for weddings and other auspicious occasions.

Inspired by Tamil traditions, we prepare every order fresh using premium ingredients and time-honoured recipes. Alongside classic favourites such as Seer Maladu, Adhirasam and Kai Murukku, we also offer wholesome alternatives including Ragi Ladoo, Karuppu Ulundhu Ladoo and Crushed Peanut Ladoo, providing customers with both traditional and healthier gifting options.

To support last-minute celebrations, we also introduced our 24-Hour Express Ladoo Service, offering selected ladoo varieties without any additional express preparation charges, subject to availability.
